Corrosion Control Hangar
Facility consists of a 32,450-square-foot hangar to provide primary capabilities to the assigned Special Operations Forces at Kirtland AFB for maintenance, corrosion control and painting of C-130(J), CV-22, MH/HH 60G Pave Hawk, MH-53J Pave Low and UH-1H Huey aircraft. The hangar includes a single aircraft paint bay, support equipment preparation bay and paint booth, paint mixing room, paint storage room, composite repair room, plastic media blasting room and personnel support areas. A three-stage, NESHAP-compliant air-filtration wall removes 98 percent of the dust, liquid and solid paint over spray from the air before venting it out of the facility, exceeding U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards.
